In this chapter, we will introduce you our loft.
We're going to explain its origin and its evolution.
The pigeon colony was built up by father Roger, later-on assisted by his sons Chris and Jan and son-in-law Patrick.
In 1960, father Roger started with the pigeons. He acquired pigeons from well-known fanciers like D'hoker Valère Moortsele, De Baere Gebroeders Nokere and Desmet-Matthijs Nokere.
Step by step he became a great talent on the middle distance. In the sixties and the seventies, he was feared for his magic results. At that time, he also became general champion in "De Maagd van Gent", famous as one of the greatest companies of the country.
Later, we began to play on the heavy middle distance.
Just since 1987, we choose as well for the races on the long distance with the well-known success.
The present colony is based on pigeons mentioned in the chapter BASE PIGEONS.

De Geschelpte Deweerdt (3329192-85) is the basis of the bloodline DEWEERDT.

DE MONTAUBAN (4573745-84), DE MARADONNA (4069020-84) and DE ZUSTER DRONKAARD (4433029-86) form the basis of the bloodline ROOSSENS-IMBRECHTS-WILLEQUET.
         In the pedigree of DE MONTAUBAN and DE MARADONNA we find:
             - ROOSSENS (origin DE FOREU, DE ECAILLE);
             - WILLEQUET (origin DE POITIERS, HET BORDEAUXKE).

        In the pedigree of DE ZUSTER DRONKAARD we find:
         - IMBRECHTS (origin DE ZOT (LE FOU), DE MONTARGIS);
         -  WILLEQUET (origin DE GROTE BLAUWE 74, HET BORDEAUXKE).  

Later the basis was being completed with pigeons of:

• bloodline JANSSEN (WORLD-FAMOUS 019)-STICHELBAUT-VANHEE-CARTEUS-DE ZUTTER;
• Florizoone (via Luc Van Coppenolle);
• Deleus Louis Boortmeerbeek;
• Carteus via Cyriel Martens from "DE VC" ("DE VIERZON CARTEUS");
• LONG DISTANCE POWER from Holland
  following origins: MULLER, VAN WANROY, AARDEN, VERVUURT
  via EDDY KORSTEN  from DE BARCELONA (1299616-98)
  DE BARCELONA is the best Barcelona pigeon in Belgium during 2001, 2002 and 2003
  DE BARCELONA won on the national race: 250th from 13161 pigeons (2001), 9th from 13021 pigeons (2002) and 145th from 11806 pigeons (2003).
